Dicom send timeout

Post by tservice » Mon Oct 31, 2016 7:32 pm

When autorouting images from pacsone to radiologist for over read, we are getting timeout errors.
Is it possible to change the timeout?
Thanks

How is the radiologist's workstation connected with the host where PacsOne Server is running? e.g., via LAN, WAN, or VPN etc?

If they are connected via a LAN, then the timeouts were most likely caused by network congestions within your LAN and increasing the timeout values will not help. If this is the case, you'll need to run some LAN traffic test and find out where the bottleneck is, and increase the network bandwidth if possible, e.g., upgrading from a 100 Mbps LAN to Gigabit Ethernet or 10-Gig Ethernet, etc.

If they are connected via a slow network link, e.g., WAN, VPN, etc, you should run some TCP traffic test between them first and make sure it can sustain the amount of Dicom traffic you were trying to route from PacsOne to the radiologist's workstation. For example, the timeouts will occur if you are sending 1000+ image studies simultaneously over a 56 Kbps dial-up connection, regardless of the timtout values in PacsOne Server.
