We are using pacs 6.1.1 and efilm for our imaging department. We are migrating to a new server. About 700GB of dicom images are located on a partition on the old server. The folder size is too large for the old server to open.
I want to backup the dicom images to a removable hard drive so we can just plug it in to the new server. What would be the best way to do this?
Whats the best way to backup dicom images?
There are 2 parts involved when you backup a PacsOne Server database:
1. The database itself (MySQL or Oracle):
You can use any standard backup/restore tools from the database vendor, e.g., mysqldump, etc for backing up the database.
2. The raw Dicom images received by PacsOne Server:
You can use any off-the-shelf backup/restore software to backup these images just like any other regular files, e.g., even the Windows built-in backup/restore software will work for this purpose.
