You only need to upgrade PHP, not the entire PacsOne Server package.

Simply download the latest PHP 5.1.4 zip package, extract it into a local folder:

1. Modify your http.conf file to reflect the path to php5apache2.dll

2. Copy the php5.1_imagick.dll to your PHP 5.1.4 extension directory.

3. Modify your php.ini to reflect the new extension name:

The alternative is to replace the dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']) variable in your applet.php with dirname($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME']):

But you may need to replace all the dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']) variable in all the PHP scripts that reference it.

I got it to work on the new version of php. I had to move the session data folder to the new php folder. I still get the same result when I hit show for the applet viewer.

What do you get with this version of PHP if you modify the applet.php script as before:

I guess the error is in OP using the dirname function (hence the \ mark, as this is a windows directory separator). This is a function for directories (so local file system) and not for URL's. Why not simply generate the link using:

$url = "http://" . $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] . $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];

Based on the output of his hello.php script this should result in:

"http://" . "localhost" . "/pacsone/hello.php" = "http://localhost/pacsone/hello.php"

which to me seems correct when you try to access it using localhost. $_SELF['SERVER_NAME'] should return the real hostname of the server when the scripts are accessed using the hostname instead of the localhost directive (this example goed for hello.php but should also work for any other file).

The dirname() PHP function is supposed to return the directory name component of a path:

http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.dirname.php

So if you print the following, the results should be the same:

print dirname($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']) . "<br>";

For example, if you access the above script via the following URL:

http://localhost/pacsone/Hell.php

The above should print the following 2 lines:

On the other hand, if you do not want to spend time figuring out why the dirname function does not work reliably under Windows, you can replace the following line in applet.php:

$url = $scheme . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']);

With the following lines:

$tokens = explode("/", $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']);

This doesn't make any sense, as the above lines clearly indicate your $_SERVER["PHP_SELF"] is valid.

You can try changing the $_SERVER["PHP_SELF"] variable to $_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"] in the function appletViewer(), and see if it makes any differenc.
