Study lossless compression to save space

Hi,
We are using Pacsone with a CT machine that cannot be "forced" to syntax class of jpeg losless.
In other words, Pacsone is getting studies with images of 1 to 2 MB each (about 1,5 GB each CT study).

I know Pacsone store an exact copy of the DICOM. So if is received as compress will be compress but if not (that is the case) will take a lot of space.
Is there a way to "force" CT to send compress images?
If not, someone know how to compress DICOM and "overwrite" them so no modification in the database is needed?

Thanks

Diego

The exact Dicom transfer syntax used to store the received Dicom images must be negotiated between the sender and receiver (PacsOne in this case), so if you want the CT images to be received in a particular Dicom compression transfer syntax, the sending device/application MUST include that transfer syntax in its list of Dicom transfer syntaxes proposed to PacsOne Server, then PacsOne will be able to accept it and the subsequent Dicom image transfer will take place via this negotiated compression transfer syntax.

Otherwise if the sending device/application cannot propose this Dicom compression transfer syntax or the CT images have been received in one of the uncompressed Dicom transfer syntaxes, you can still compress all images stored in the PacsOne Server database from the "Tools->Compress Entire Database" menu, and select the particular Dicom compression transfer syntax from the drop-down list. This option may take quite some time if you have a lot of Dicom images stored in the PacsOne Server database.
