We are currently running PacsOne Premium v6.2.2 in a WampSever environment on XP Pro (32bit) workstation. We would like to upgrade to the latest version continuing to use WampServer but on a Windows Server 2012 (64bit) server.
1. Are there any special considerations for such a migration or should we simply install a new instance of PacsOne (64bit) and WampServer (64bit) on Win2012?
2. What would be the process for migrating the data?
PacsOne Migration from 6.2.2 (32bit) to 6.4.5 (64bit)
Re: PacsOne Migration from 6.2.2 (32bit) to 6.4.5 (64bit)
Yes, the following are the special considerations you need to be aware of due to the CPU architecture difference (32-bit vs 64-bit):
1. You'll need a 64-bit replacement license for the new 64-bit server platform. Please contact mailto:pacsone@pacsone.net for information required for the replacement license.
2. You'll need to backup the current 32-bit v6.2.2 PacsOne Server database into a text file ("*.sql) using MYSQLDUMP, then install 64-bit version of MySQL/WAMP Server on the new server (but do not install the 64-bit v6.4.5 of PacsOne Server yet). After that, restore the v6.2.2 database from the dumped text file ("*.sql") on the new server. The backup to/restore from the text file ("*.sql") is necessary because of the CPU architecture difference, i.e., the existing 32-bit binary database files may not be compatible with the 64-bit version of MySQL running on the new server.
3. After the v6.2.2 database has been restored on the new 64-bit MySQL on the new server, you can then proceed to install the 64-bit version of PacsOne Server and be sure to click on the <Upgrade> button instead of a new <Install>, and you'll need a valid upgrade password in order to run the upgrade.

Also, what non-Java viewers are available for PacsOne? Can any DICOM viewer be integrated? If not, what does the viewer need for PacsOne compatibility? Minimizing the administration of ongoing Java updates would be ideal.

I assume trial version will work with existing data and full evaluation would be possible without purchasing a new license first?

You can find a list of supported web-based Dicom image viewers from our website:lmavroff wrote:Also, what non-Java viewers are available for PacsOne? Can any DICOM viewer be integrated? In addition, PacsOne Server will work with any Dicom-compliant stand-alone (not embedded within a web browser) image viewers such as eFilm, RadWorks, etc.

You'll need to run version 6.2.2 of PacsOne Server on the new 64-bit server, in order for the 64-bit trial license to work with the migrated v6.2.2 database from the old 32-bit server.lmavroff wrote: I assume trial version will work with existing data and full evaluation would be possible without purchasing a new license first?
